Her focus subjects of study are the sense of place, the notion of belonging, the interaction between public and private space, the concept of trespassing, geography and the relationship of position with the world today. Walk with Stefania: In all Directions

Spaziergang mit Stefania: in alle Richtungen

An open and participative project started in 2014 that is still in progress. It takes the form of a relational walk where the participants are asked to create a personal itinerary in which they are required to carry out the very simple actions indicated in a PDF file linked on the Facebook page of the project. The goal of the instructions is to lead the participants in experiencing the possibility of becoming lost within the environment and to perceive the surroundings in terms of experimental knowledge, coming into contact with the population, its culture and themselves as significant individuals in relation with the others. At the end of the walk, the documentation collected through photographs and maps will be posted on the Facebook page and everybody can share their own reflections on their personal journey. The project was inspired by the book Perdersiby Franco La Cecla, which explores the concept of getting lost, creating a sense of home, belonging and alienation as well as the processes of settling down and familiarizing that design and draft our mental maps.

HOW IT WORKS

Start your walk wherever and whenever you want. When you are done with it, please join the artist on Saturday 4 August at 16:00 at Galerie Wedding, Müllerstraße 146/147, 13353 Berlin.
